Carling Adrenal Center: Who We Are
The Carling Adrenal Center is part of one of the largest endocrine surgery practices in the world. We perform adrenal surgery only, but are part of a large group of surgeons who specialize in surgery of the parathyroid and thyroid glands as well. Since January 2022 we have operated exclusively at the Hospital for Endocrine Surgery in Tampa, a full-service hospital dedicated to the surgical treatment of tumors and cancers of the adrenal, thyroid and parathyroid glands. Dr. Tobias Carling personally performs every adrenal operation. He has performed thousands of adrenal operations over his career, including more than 2,400 since January 2022 alone.
Four Centers of Excellence United in One High-Volume Endocrine Surgery Practice
The surgeons of the Carling Adrenal Center, Norman Parathyroid Center, Clayman Thyroid Center, and Scarless Thyroid Surgery Center united under one roof in 2022 at the Hospital for Endocrine Surgery (more on that below). Each center focuses on a single endocrine gland. At the Carling Adrenal Center, Dr. Tobias Carling performs adrenal surgery only: up to 750 adrenal operations a year.
Operating Exclusively at the Hospital for Endocrine Surgery
The Hospital for Endocrine Surgery opened in Tampa, Florida on January 3, 2022. To our knowledge it is the only hospital dedicated exclusively to the surgical treatment of thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal cancers and tumors. The 75,000 sq. ft. facility is a campus of HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital.
The Hospital for Endocrine Surgery offers endocrinologists and other physicians a single center where they can refer their patients with endocrine tumors of the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands for surgery, regardless of the complexity. Its multi-disciplinary surgical staff has expertise in treating all of these tumors.
With close proximity to Tampa International Airport, the hospital attracts patients from across the state, the nation and other countries. At the Carling Adrenal Center, about half of our patients come from outside Florida, including from around the world.
